Middle Sea Race 2022

Take on the challenge of this iconic 600 mile race.

The Med in October can be peaceful 😎

It can also be very uncomfortable. This changeability means that you need to be good to succeed in this the most complex of 600 mile races.

This programme involves sailing 2,600 nautical miles and takes one month.

It starts on Friday 30th September with a race from Cowes to Cherbourg.

We then cruise on south to Gibraltar – ETA. 8th October.

Hopefully a quick pitstop in Ibiza

Then on to Malta- ETA 17th October

19th October: Coastal Race (c.4 hours. An opportunity to check out the competition, and yet still return to the bar of the Royal Malta Yacht Club)

22nd Oct: Middle Sea Race 2022 Saturday 22nd Oct —Start from inside the magnificent Grand Harbour under the watchful eyes of Knights Templar.

Circumnavigate Sicily dodging Etna, Stromboli, Scylla and Charibdis.

Richard skippered this russian boat in the 2020 edition

You need heaps of enthusiasm, 30 days off work and £ to put towards Team Emily’s expenses.

31st Oct: Prize giving party in the Knights’ banqueting hall

The 2000 mile delivery sail around Europe is a great opportunity to get to know the boat and hone skills. The fastest crews are seldom the ones who arrive by airplane 😀

And we are off 🐬
